Located on the southwest coast of Denmark, Esbjerg has sweeping landscapes, beautiful beaches and tonnes of bars and shops to explore.

There is plenty to do in Esbjerg. The town is home to the original Legoland, and the main streets are bursting with 150 shops and restaurants. It couldn’t be easier to explore either, with pedestrian-only zones and bus shuttles to landmarks available.

You can also take in some culture with one of the nearby art museums such as the Esbjerg Kunstmuseum, an experimental gallery offering a unique experience to children and adults alike. Or visit a stunning landmark like the Mennesket ved havet (Men at Sea) a stunning monument made to honour Esbjerg’s seafaring history, located next to Sædding Beach.

History runs through Esbjerg. Museums such as the Fisheries and Maritime Museum offer a chance to learn that heritage with interesting exhibits, storytelling from fishermen and a dedicated aquarium.

Esbjerg is a proud seaport town with a rich industrial past. That history is now both celebrated and being built on with the town being home to Denmark’s largest port as well as the heart of the country’s oil industry. In recent years the town has made strides into the renewable energy sector, with the harbour facilities being expanded to accommodate the needs of the wind-turbine industry.
